June ACEO drop

This is the third month of creating a set of ACEOs. This month I worked with a limited palette and a pastel pink undertone to make a collection of mini landscape paintings.

I am starting to find a creative flow where I first premeasure the ACEOs on watercolour paper, then tape it down and paint layer of toned gesso. I normally tone with orange, but this time I used left over pink from last month. I still have some pink gesso made up, so I may make larger versions of a couple of these.

For the landscapes I did studies of old photos I had taken Pinterest as well finds. I really need to get out more and take more landscape photos. I pushed colour and shape. keeping them bold and simple. The result is not perfect, but the process was really fun and great practice.
